SCHOOL ADMISSIONS

As a Local authority school, Haselbury Plucknett Church of England Primary School follows the guidelines of Somerset County schools. Please click here for further information on the admission arrangements.

A child can start school in the September of the year in which they are 5 years of age. Applications for admission to our school for a September intake is through the Somerset County Council website link –  Primary Admissions

Mid-year applications for a place at the school can be made through the school. We advise you to contact the school for information about available places in year groups initially. Visits to the school are always welcome, especially if you are looking for a place for your child. We have an extensive site for a village school which is not immediately apparent from the roadside aspect.

Please contact South Somerset District Council for further information about admissions and appeal arrangements

OVERSUBSCRIPTION CRITERIA

We accept those living within our catchment area, which covers the villages and area of Haselbury Plucknett and North Perrott as priority. Where an application has been refused in any year group, the child will be placed on a waiting list. This will be kept strictly in order of oversubscription criteria by the Local Authority, as the Admission Authority, and the child will remain on the waiting list until the end of the academic year in which the application was refused. Parents are responsible for informing the Admission Authority of any changes in their circumstances, which could affect their place on the waiting list.
