At Haselbury Plucknett Primary School we offer a curriculum which is broad and balanced and which builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills of all children, whatever their starting points, as they progress through each Key Stage. The curriculum incorporates the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum 2013 and other experiences and opportunities which best meet the learning and developmental needs of the pupils in our school.
As a Church of England school we also draw from Deeply Christian, Serving The Common Good. This is the Church of England vision for education. this encompasses 4 key areas.
Educating for Wisdom, Knowledge and Skills.
Educating for Hope and Aspiration.
Educating for Community and Living Well Together.
Educating for Dignity and Respect.

Through our curriculum, we aim that pupils are inspired and engaged in their learning. We encourage pupils to be curious and ask questions about the world around them. Our curriculum facilitates pupils to explore their passions and talents. Through our curriculum we support pupils develop their aspirations for their futures and become life-long learners.
If you have any questions about your child’s curriculum please speak with the class teacher. If your enquiry is more general, please contact the school and speak with Headteacher Mrs Lois Bowery.
Consultation 2019
During the Spring Term 2019 we consulted groups of staff, parents and pupils to find out what their hopes and vision were for the curriculum at Haselbury Plucknett Primary School. These were the common themes that stretched beyond the national curriculum.
Our governors have also worked together to develop a statement of curriculum intent at the Federation, deeping our vision of Learning and Growing Together. This outlines the aims we have for our pupils during their time at the school.
