CATKINS CLASS

Class Teacher: Mrs Ella Jukes
Supported by: Mrs Wade and Miss Howey

We are a kind, caring and creative class who enjoy learning in many different ways.

We always try our best and like to challenge ourselves in everything that we do.

A few things that we are working on at school are…

  • Learning new letters, sounds and spellings in our phonics lessons
  • Enjoying new and exciting books in our reading lessons
  • Mastering number in our maths lessons, and building secure foundations in number, shape and measure.
  • Using quality texts to learn new writing skills
  • Increasing confidence, enthusiasm and individual creativity in art and DT lessons.
  • Having fun looking at and learning about our world, how to look after our environment and care for each other.

We learn through structured play, outdoor learning, movement and song as well as more formal work, sharing stories, ideas and discussion.

PE is on Wednesday and Thursday, so please bring a PE kit in a drawstring bag to leave at school.

Sometimes we will go for village welly walks and a message will be sent home the day before to ensure that children have wellies in school.

Homework for years 1 and 2 will be sent home on Mondays, to be returned by Friday of the same week.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email or telephone and speak to Mrs Jukes, Mrs McLelland, or Mrs Bowery.
