Welcome to Catkins’ class page!

Catkins are a kind, caring and creative class who enjoy learning in many different ways.

We always try our best and like to challenge ourselves in everything that we do.

A few things that we are working on at school are…

• Learning letters, sounds and spellings in our phonics lessons
• Enjoying new and exciting books in our reading lessons
• Mastering number in our Maths lessons, and building secure foundations in number, shape and measure.
• Using quality texts to learn new writing skills
• Increasing confidence, enthusiasm and individual creativity in art and DT lessons.
• Having fun looking at and learning about our world, how to look after our environment and care for each other.

Other routines:

• PE sessions 2 x per week (Tuesdays and Fridays), please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school.
• To support your child’s learning listen to them read 4 x per week.
• Homework tasks for KS1 will be given out on Mondays

Children should please bring to school:

Wellies (RECEPTION CHILDREN ONLY)

A drink bottle containing water

A book bag and their lunchbox (if they do not have a hot meal)

Please make sure that all personal belongings are labelled, so that your child is able to easily find their jumpers, drinks etc. We recommend either using a permanent pen or a sticky label.

Teachers in class each week:

Mrs Jukes teaches Catkins class every morning, alongside Mrs Wade (HLTA), Mrs Crawford (TA) and Miss Howey (TA).

Mrs Jukes also teaches Catkins class on Wednesday afternoons, alongside Miss Howey.

Miss Chapman teaches Catkins class most afternoons, alongside Miss Howey (TA).
